BUENA PARK (CBSLA.com) — Joey “Jaws” Chestnut, known as one of the world’s top-ranked competitive eaters, ate his way to a world-record Saturday after chowing down on 14.5 pounds of boysenberry pie in eight minutes at Knott’s Berry Farm.

According to Knott’s, Chestnut won last year by eating 14 pounds of pie in eight minutes.
Chestnut faced fierce competition from number-three-ranked Miki Sudo, who has consumed 104 hard-boiled eggs in eight minutes, and Michelle Lesco, the world’s number eight-ranked eater, who has consumed 152 chicken wings in 10 minutes.READ MORE: Some Calif. Steve Hendry ate 10 pounds of pie to win second place and $1,000. Sudo downed 9.5 pounds for $600 and Lesco ate 9 pounds to win $300.
