1 Hurt As Small Plane With 5 Aboard Makes Belly Landing At Van Nuys Airport

VAN NUYS (AP) — A small private airplane with five people aboard had to do a "belly skid" landing at a Los Angeles airport, but only one person had to be hospitalized.

City Fire Department spokeswoman Margaret Stewart says the Beechcraft King Air plane had faulty landing gear, and the pilot was forced to land without it on Thursday night at Van Nuys Airport.

Paramedics took one person to a hospital. Stewart did not know the person's condition.
