Dog Who Lost Both Eyes Up For Adoption

PHOENIX (CBSLA.com) — A dog who lost both his eyes is looking for a forever home.

The two-year-old pit bull terrier was found on the side of a road in north Phoenix with severe damage to his eyes. He had collapsed from exhaustion and both eyes had popped out of their sockets.

Named Ashton, the pup has healed quickly after the emergency surgery to remove his eyes, which were causing him intense pain, but he is adjusting to life as a blind dog.

In spite of the new disability, Ashton plays in the yard, is learning new tricks and still loves belly rubs from the Arizona Humane Society's staff and volunteers.

Ashton is available with an adoption fee of $110 that includes his medical treatment, neuter surgery and vaccinations.
