WWII Veteran, Wife Found Dead In Their Apple Valley Home

APPLE VALLEY (CBSLA.com) — An elderly couple, married for more than 65 years, was found dead in their Apple Valley home. They were homicide victims, police said Tuesday.

The bodies of Louis Giuntini, 95, and his wife, Rose, 92, were found in their house in the 19900 block of Outer Highway 18 at 4:18 Monday.

Friends said Mr. Giuntini was a World-War-II veteran with great mobility and often walked the golf course behind his home.

Good friend John Phillips said he last saw Mr. Giuntini Thursday. "He was a guy full of life. We all use to marvel at his ability to come out here and play golf two to three times a week at 95."

A family friend found the couple's bodies while checking on their welfare.

Their deaths are considered suspicious. But investigators will not reveal how the victims died .

Anyone with information is urged to contact Detective Ryan Smith or Sergeant Jason Radeleff of the Specialized Investigations Division (909) 387-3589.
