Residents Return To Tustin Apartments After Suspected Drug Lab Rendered Safe

TUSTIN (CBSLA.com) — Residents of a Tustin apartment complex were allowed to return to their units early Monday morning after a suspected drug lab was found to pose no risk, police said.

Police say neighbors called in suspicious activity at the Rancho Alisal complex in the 13800 block of Parkcenter Lane just after 10 p.m. Sunday, Tustin police Sgt. Jeff Taylor said.

Several apartments were evacuated, he said.

Police called in Orange County Fire Authority hazardous materials specialists who determined there was drug activity, Tustin police Lt. Robert Wright said.

The apartment was determined to be safe and police withdrew to get a search warrant and allowed neighbors to return.

Seven people were arrested, Tustin police Sgt. J. Brabeck said. They were men and women who were not immediately booked and it was not immediately clear what charges they'll face.
