Record-Smashing "Deadpool" Movie May Not Be Suitable For All Kids

HOLLYWOOD (CBSLA.com) — "Deadpool" is comic book-inspired movie that may seem harmless and inviting to kids. It is anything but.

The flick, starring Ryan Reynolds as a foul-mouthed superhero, is wildly inappropriate. Many reviewers are warning parents that it is not suitable for most kids because it is loaded with nudity, sex and foul language.

Profanity shows up in almost every sentence and part of speech. Plus, there is full-frontal female nudity.

Derek Hillman brought his whole family, including his 7-year-old daughter, to see the movie at the Arclight Hollywood Monday night. "I did not know there was a lot of sex and nudity in this movie. From the TV, all we saw was a comedy and a little Spiderman violence," Hillman said.

Lenore Douglas said she won't take her children but thought it might be okay for some teens. "I think a kid, who's 15 years old, can go and see it."

Deadpool made its record-smashing debut during the three-day holiday weekend, raking in $135 million in U.S. theaters, according to comScore estimates.

The movie is the biggest R-rated opening ever and the largest ever box-office debut on a President's Day weekend.
