Yucaipa Teacher Arrested On Suspicion Of Sexually Assaulting High School Student

YUCAIPA (CBSLA.com) — A 36-year-old English teacher has been arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting, police said Saturday.

On Thursday, Lucas Michael Drake, of Yucaipa, was arrested on suspicion of committing oral copulation on a juvenile and contacting a juvenile for sex, according to the Yucaipa Police Department.

"During the investigation, it was discovered Drake contacted a 15-year-old male online and later met with the juvenile in San Diego County," said Deputy Kelle Ammerman. "Drake transported the juvenile to his own home within the City of Yucaipa where he engaged in sex acts with him."

Evidence of the molestation was collected at Drake's home. He was subsequently arrested and booked into the West Valley Detention Center in lieu of $1 million bail.

Drake, who is a credentialed teacher for the Colton Unified School District and teaches at Colton High School, is scheduled to appear in San Bernardino Superior Court court on Monday.

The investigation is ongoing.
