Crews Extinguish Massive Industrial Building Fire Fueled By Combustible Storage In Glassell Park

GLASSELL PARK (CBSLA.com) — Crews Monday extinguished a massive structure fire that erupted in Glassell Park.

According to the Los Angeles City Fire Department, the greater alarm blaze erupted shortly after 5:00 a.m. located in the 3000 block of North Fierro Street near San Fernando Street.

Upon their arrival, authorities located the one-story building completely engulfed in flames.

Firefighters said the fire is being fueled by combustible storage and propane cylinders.

"[The fire] is being described as palletized storage, possibly wooden pallets," said LAFD Spokesman Brian Humphrey. "It appears to be an assembly building of some sort. We're waiting for the business owner to arrive at this time."

Around 120 firefighters assisted to extinguish the blaze within two hours.

LAFD Spokesman Brian Humphrey said the fire did not cause any power outages in the area.

San Fernando Road will remain closed until further notice between Glendale Boulevard and the 2 Freeway.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
