Officials Put Finishing Touches On Family-Friendly 'Super Bowl City'

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — As football fans across Southern California eagerly await Super Bowl 50, our friends up north are putting the finishing touches on a project years in the making.

Super Bowl City, centered at Market and the Embarcadero in San Francisco, will be free of charge, family-friendly, and hallmarked by booths with displays of interactive technology - everything from drones to virtual football.

"Like anything, in the last day of construction, you're finishing up, you're doing your final touches," said Super Bowl 50 CEO Keith Bruce. "I know it looks like a lot to do, but we'll be ready."

One game being offered is called "Breakaway", proclaimed to be the motion capture football game of the future. It allows fans to experience a virtual simulation of playing in the big game.

But Super Bowl City isn't just fun and games - there's also world-class entertainment, including the City Stage presented by Levi's, with live music acts like One Republic, Alicia Keys and Chris Isaak.

And when fans need a break from the action?

"You'll be able to chill out at the Sonoma County wine lounge and have a glass of wine if you're an adult," said Bruce.

Around 50 wineries are going to be pouring at the Taste of Sonoma lounge, according to tourism official Tim Zahner.
