Arcadia Teens Allegedly Killed By Their Uncle Laid To Rest In Emotional Ceremony

ARCADIA (CBSLA.com)  —   Two teens -- brothers -- allegedly killed by their uncle were laid to rest Saturday.

At the boys' funeral, their father spoke about his loss.

As "Amazing Grace" played, hundreds of people wiped away tears.

The congregation listened intently to stories about siblings Anthony and William Lin.

At the boys' funeral, their heartbroken father spoke about his loss.

"In the past week my wife Vicki and I experienced [the] most difficult time in our life. And the tragedy hit us so hard so that we cannot face the reality," said David Lin.

Authorities say the boys' uncle -- 44-year-old Deyun Shi -- killed them on Jan. 22 in their Arcadia home. Police believe Shi attacked them after becoming angry upon learning that his wife had planned to divorce him.

Shi was arrested the following day after he arrived in Hong Kong.

The brothers both attended Arcadia High School and friends described them as talented and generous.

William, 16, excelled in science and engineering.

"He loved biology and chemistry," said friend Justin Yeung. "He had dreams of becoming a medical doctor to serve his community."

Friends said 15-year-old Anthony was someone who loved to give time to others.

"He loved helping people so much and had such a warm heart that he would ask his parents to help him find him more opportunities to volunteer at and contribute to," said friend Gary Zhu.

The boys' father ended the service by thanking the community for helping him and his family get through this painful time.

"God bless William, Anthony, and God bless all of us," Lin said.
