Driver, Passenger Killed In Fiery South LA Crash

SOUTH LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Two people were killed Tuesday after their vehicle collided into a tree and erupted in flames in South Los Angeles.

The crash took place just after 2 a.m. in the 400 block of W 58th Street, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Upon their arrival, paramedics pronounced the driver and a passenger dead at the scene.

The victims' identities are being withheld pending family notification.

Figueroa Street will remain closed just two blocks north of Slauson Avenue until further notice.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
