Ex-Boyfriend Wanted In Connection With Double Murder In Winnetka

WINNETKA (CBSLA.com) — Homicide detectives Monday continued to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting deaths of a man and woman in Winnetka.

According to the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office, Jerrad Scott, 24, of La Mesa, has been identified as one of the shooting victims.

Shortly before 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, officers were sent to the 7600 block of Oso Avenue near Keswick Street for report of an assault with a deadly weapon, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Upon their arrival, authorities located a 22-year-old woman and Scott suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Paramedics pronounced both victims dead at the scene.

The coroner's office is waiting to release the woman's identity pending family notification.

Officials have not clarified if the victims were romantically involved.

A preliminary investigation revealed the woman called 911 and reported that her ex-boyfriend was armed with a gun inside of her home.

Homicide detectives subsequently identified the suspect as 24-year-old Brian "Hammond" Anthony Gonzales.

Detectives described Gonzales as an African American man who stands 5-foot-7 tall and weighs around 160 pounds.

At this time, no arrests have been made.

The investigation is ongoing.
