Firefighters Extinguish Pallet Yard Fire In Fontana

FONTANA (CBSLA.com) — Crews Monday extinguished a second-alarm fire at a pallet yard in Fontana.

The blaze erupted shortly after 11:30 p.m. on Sunday, located in the 15600 block of Boyle Avenue, according to the San Bernardino County Fire Department.

Upon their arrival, crews located a small portion of the pallet yard on fire. Some of the pallets were found stacked as high as 40-feet-tall.

Firefighters aggressively attacked the blaze from all sides and were able to contain the flames in just over an hour and a half.

The fire reached on onsite storage building, which contained additional pallets, according to firefighters. The building sustained partial damage as a result of the fire.

No injuries or evacuations were reported.

At this time, a preliminary fire damage estimate has not been released.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

On Wednesday, a fire erupted at a pallet yard located in the area of Sierra and Slover avenues. Authorities have not clarified if the two incidents may be related.
