ARLETA (CBSLA.com) —  Police chased a possible stolen car suspect around the Valley Sunday afternoon.

Officials said there were two people in the two-door silver colored vehicle — a male driver and female passenger.

The chase started in Arleta around 3:38 p.m., officials said.

The chase covered surface streets, and the 14 and 5 Freeways, the CHP reported.

The driver maintained speeds of well above 100 mph through much of the pursuit.

The suspect crashed in Palmdale at 50th St. East and East Ave P around 4:15 p.m. The suspect was ordered out of the vehicle with his hands up.

The female passenger was also taken into custody.

There were at least four patrol cars involved in the chase and arrest.
