Crews Extinguish Christmas Tree Fire At Cell Phone Store In Cypress Park

CYPRESS PARK (CBSLA.com) — Crews Friday extinguished a Christmas tree fire that erupted within a cell phone store in Cypress Park.

Around 10:45 a.m., firefighters were sent to a one-story commercial building located in the 2800 block of North Figueroa Street for report of a structure fire, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Upon their arrival, crews worked to extinguish flames burning in the building.

Firefighters said there was significant charring around the area of a Christmas tree as a result of the fire.

No injuries were reported. The business was closed when the fire erupted.

A preliminary investigation revealed an electrical problem might have triggered the fire.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
