CERRITOS (CBSLA.com) — A body was found in a burned vehicle Sunday in Cerritos.

The discovery was made at 7:47 a.m. in the 7800 block of Denni Street, the Sheriff’s Information Bureau said.

The victim — in a 1999 Toyota Corolla — was pronounced at the scene.

Sunday evening, detectives said the victim — a resident of La Palma — was a 55-year-old male.

When authorities arrived they said the car was fully engulfed in flames.

Officials said the exact cause of the fire was still being investigated but reported that “several” gas cans were located inside the car.
