Shoppers Out In Full Force For Super Saturday Around The Southland

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Families were out in full force in Saturday getting some last minute shopping done, all just in time for Christmas.

Procastination pays for brick and mortar stores, as super Saturday is expected to be one of the biggest shopping days of the year.

"The lines were ridiculous and I'm exhausted so I'm going to go home now," Tiffany Garcia said in Montebello.

According to shoppertrack, it could be the second-highest sales event of the year, just behind black Friday.

"I always get in the same way, buy things and then right before it gets time for Christmas, I'm like I should get them more, it's that time, it's awesome," Joshua Sandoval told CBS2's Adrianna Weingold.

Some shoppers were all tuckered out after a long day hitting the mall, but there was a lot left to buy, and despite the holiday rush, the crowds kept on coming.

Others like Emily Torres spent the morning getting her hair done, so she and her little sister could have their pictures taken with Santa.

Despite the crowds and last-minute shopping, Torres says it's really all about being together during the holiday season.

"Just being with family, because they don't come here a lot, and I just like being with my family," Torres said.

KCAL9's Rebecca Ferriter spoke to shoppers in Canoga Park where rain and heavy traffic did nothing to deter or detour shoppers from getting last-minute bargains.
