Mailboxes Tampered With In Sierra Madre, Residents Say

SIERRA MADRE (CBSLA.com) — Approximately 30 residents in Sierra Madre awoke today to discover that their mailboxes had been tampered with overnight.

A resident in the 400 block of North Canon Avenue went out for a morning walk at about 7 a.m. and noticed that his mailbox had been tampered with and mail had possibly been stolen, according to a news statement from the Sierra  Madre Police Department.

Shortly thereafter, residents in the northeast part of town found that their mailboxes had also been tampered with.

Sierra Madre police will be working with the local U.S. postal inspector on the investigation, according to the news statement.

Sierra Madre police asked anyone who has information or saw any suspicious activity Friday evening or overnight in the northeast portion of the city to call them at (626) 355-1414.
