LAKE LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com)  — Detectives are investigating the grisly discovery of a burned body in Lake Los Angeles, deputies said Wednesday.

Around 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday, deputies were sent the intersection of 210th Street East and Avenue O, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Upon their arrival, authorities discovered the burned body in the roadway.

Paramedics pronounced the victim dead at the scene. Their identity is being withheld pending family notification.

At this time, the gender of the victim remains unclear.

The investigation is ongoing.
