Caught On Camera: Suspect Robs Santa Ana Gas Station Cashier
SANTA ANA (CBSLA.com) — Police sought the public's help Wednesday to identify a suspect who was caught on camera robbing a gas station clerk in Santa Ana.
The robbery occurred shortly after 6 a.m. on Nov. 19, at the USA gas station located in the 400 block of North Tustin Avenue, according to the Santa Ana Police Department.
Surveillance video captured a male suspect driving up to the front entrance, exiting his vehicle and entering the store.
The man was then seen brandishing a handgun, demanding money from the cash register and grabbing cigarette lighters as he left.
Detectives described the suspect as a Hispanic man believed to be between the ages of 30 to 40-years-old, stands no taller than 5-foot-8 and weighs no more than 190 pounds.
He was last seen wearing a bright orange jacket with reflective bands, blue jeans, a black beanie and black material covering his face.
The suspect fled from the scene in a 2008 white, four-door Chevy Malibu that has a sunroof.
