Search Continues For Visual Effects Producer Missing For Past Week

GARDENA (CBSLA.com) — Family, friends and police continued to search Tuesday for a 27-year-old visual effects producer who was last seen driving away from his Gardena workplace without his wallet or other personal effects.

Eric Kohler reportedly produced visual effects for blockbuster movies including "The Avengers," "San Andreas," and "X-Men." He was last seen driving north on Western Avenue from Imperial Highway, away from his work in the 1700 block of El Segundo Boulevard last Tuesday in his 2015 black Range Rover Evoke, with no license plate.

His last text message was a note to his girlfriend, telling her he would see her soon.

"We need help, we need help to find our son," Eric's mother Sheryi Kohler said through tears.

A flier posted Facebook and Twitter with the hashtag #FindKohler describes him as 5 feet 10, 160 pounds, with straight brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a light blue collared shirt, blue jeans, brown suede shoes and a brown leather, chrome plated watch on his left wrist.

Anyone with information on his disappearance or whereabouts was asked to call the LAPD Missing Persons Unit at (213) 996-1800 or (213) 484-6700 after hours.
