Local Planned Parenthood Makes Statement In Support Of Colorado Springs Chapter

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com)  —  A Los Angeles chapter of Planned Parenthood issued a statement Friday in support of a Colorado Springs chapter under attack by an unidentified gunman.

Officials said the gunman shot at least nine people -- including four police officers.

Their conditions were not known.

The statement read, "Planned Parenthood's number one priority is the safety of our patients and staff, and we do not routinely comment on security measures at our health centers. Our thoughts and prayers are with the staff and patients at Planned Parenthood Colorado Springs, the officers and others affected by today's tragic shooting."

Planned Parenthood in the Los Angeles area were closed today because of the holiday but will reopen tomorrow, said the statement.
