Yolanda Hayes begun by pouring over the VIP guest list.
She and a group of volunteers worked overtime to make sure the room where the dinner was served would look extra special.
Guests were also greeted as they arrived at “Chateau Le’Hill” Restaurant.
“It was first class all the way,” said Stephaine Shepherd, who said the meal made her feel special and great. Even if she didn’t think she was dressed up enough.
Keith Ferguson gave the blessing. He and his group then went to work serving.
“It’s beautiful, I love it,” said Kenisha Norwood. She thought the place cards were a nice touch.
A group of volunteers also dressed up and served.
Hayes and Debra Dearborn also dressed up a white, non-descript room at the church to the five-star chateau.READ MORE: Murder Suspect Leads Police On Pursuit From Ontario To North Hollywood Following Slaying
“It’s beautiful and I didn’t expect it,” said Isaiah Rankins.
“This is amazing. It’s beyond our wildest dreams,” said Marty Nislick. His group, the Water Buffalo Club, picked up the tab.
Their men’s charity has given more than $4 million in 26 years to help those in need. The day started out with a movie, “The Good Dinosaur,” at the Gardena Cinema.
Mills talked to young Jaylin Bester who he said had the healthiest appetite in the room.
“I had chicken, meat…” he said.
Mills told him the chicken was probably turkey.
“Yeah, turkey,” he smiled.
Mills pointed out, however that Bester didn’t eat his green beans.
“I didn’t, cause I don’t like green beans,” he said. “And I didn’t notice them.” He also vowed not to notice them later.MORE NEWS: Fugitive Wanted For Downtown LA Hit-And-Run In Stolen Truck Which Severely Injured Woman Apprehended In Arizona
