VALINDA (CBSLA.com)  —   A 17-year-old was fatally shot during a house party in Valinda Saturday evening, officials said.

A man was also shot in the hand, a sheriff’s deputy said Sunday.

The shooting occurred a little after 11:50 p.m. in the 14100 block of Barrydale Street, said Deputy Mike Barraza of the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.

Valinda is located in the east San Gabriel Valley.

During a party at the location, a gunman shot a victim in the upper torso and another man was shot in the hand, Barraza said. The suspect fled the location, Barraza said.

The unidentified 17-year-old male was pronounced dead at the scene. His name is being withheld pending notification of his family.

The second victim was rushed to an area hospital, where his medical condition is unknown.
