Simone I. Smith launched her jewelry line Saturday and as a cancer survivor, she also said some of the proceeds are going to cancer research.

KCAL9’s Adrianna Weingold attended the cool launch.

The crowds went wild for LL Cool Jand his wife, jewelry designer, Simone I.  Smith. The celebrity couple teamed up for a meet and greet with fans who were also treated to a special trunk show for Simone’s amazing collection.

“She told me she wanted to start a line, she wanted to give a portion of the proceeds to the American Cancer Society and at the same time help people to look stylish and flavorful and I thought it was a great idea, I thought it was dope so we did it,” says LL.

Simone is an 11 -year cancer survivor. One of her signature pieces, the lollipop, was inspired by her own story.

“During my surgery, they had to do a skin graft and my lollipop tattoo was disfigured, it looked like somebody took a bite out of it so when I started to design my line, one of the first pieces I designed was the sweet touch of hope so it represents how sweet life is. The bite represents what cancer does to people,” said Simone.

It’s also a reminder of how we can all overcome even the most difficult hardship.

One dollar from every piece sold goes to the American Cancer Society, Weingold reports. One of Simone’s other favorites is the gorgeous “I love you more” necklace, inspired by her grandma.

She has several favorites, in fact. And was eager to show them off.

“This right here, this is actually my logo earring in the petit size, you see it has the s the I and the s, but it was important when I designed the logo that it also looked like a butterfly, that it looked like something other than [the word] sis. It’s a hot design, it’s a funky design,” says Simone.
