Woman Suspected Of Sex In Car Allegedly Slips Cuffs, Drives Car At Sheriff's Deputy

GRAND TERRACE (CBSLA.com) — A woman arrested for allegedly having sex in the back of a car is now facing an additional charge of assaulting a police officer with a car.

A deputy responding to a report of a man and a woman having sex in the backseat of a car, which was parked on a busy street with children walking home from Grand Terrace Middle School, found 23-year-old Cristi Caraveo, of Bloomington, and 24-year-old Emanuel Olivares, of Grand Terrace, according to San Bernardino County Sheriff's officials.

The deputy asked the couple to get dressed and handcuffed both of them behind their backs. As the deputy detained Olivares, sheriff's officials say Caraveo slipped her handcuffs from the rear to the front and jumped in her car.

Caraveo allegedly put the car in gear and accelerated toward the deputy, who suffered a cut to his left hand that required several stitches.

Within an hour, sheriff's officials say Caraveo was found at her home in Bloomington and taken into custody without further incident.

Caraveo, who is being held without bail, faces charges of assault on a police officer with a weapon, escape and indecent exposure when she makes her first court appearance Monday.

Olivares faces a charge of indecent exposure and obstructing an officer. He has been cited and released, according to San Bernardino County sheriff's jail records.
