'Tough Mudder' Launches New Event Series Coming To LA

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Tough Mudder officially announced the launch of a new event series called, Tough Mudder Half, which will be coming to Los Angeles for the first time in April.

The new event will join the original full Tough Mudder event that comes to town in April as well.

Tough Mudder is known around the world for it's 10+ mile grueling obstacle course challenges, designed to test physical strength, mental grit and teamwork, with classic obstacles including fire, ice and 10,000 volts of electricity.

The Tough Mudder Half will reach a whole new audience of participants with it's new format.

The new event will feature:

  • A five-mile obstacle course (all the mud, half the distance)
  • Over a dozen signature Tough Mudder obstacles, including Walk the Plank, Everest, and the Kiss of Mud
  • It will remove some of the daunting features found on the full Tough Mudder course, such as ice, fire and electricity

Tough Mudder and Tough Mudder Half will be held at Glen Helen Raceway over the weekend of April 16th.

Last year's event brought over 10,000 participants to the course, but the 2016 event is expected to surpass that total.

Tough Mudder Half gives friends and family members  who watched from the sidelines a chance to get in on the action and join Mudder Nation.
