Sheriff's Homicide Detectives Probe Shooting Death Of 15-Year-Old In Carson

CARSON (CBSLA.com)  —   Authorities said a 15-year-old male was shot to death Saturday in Carson.

Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Homicide detectives were dispatched to the 23900 block of Avalon Boulevard.

Officials said the teen, a Latino, was shot just before 4:36 p.m.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities said late Saturday that the victim was walking with a female friend on Sepulveda Boulevard from Avalon Boulevard when they were approached by a silver or white 4-door vehicle. Witnesses said two black males got out of the vehicle and shot the victim multiple times.

The men reportedly jumped back into the vehicle and fled eastbound on Sepuleveda.

Officials said the victim's female companion was unharmed.

Detectives said it was unknown if the shooting was gang-related but believe the victim was specifically targeted by the suspects.
