(CBSLA.com) — A company in Australia is bringing new meaning to the phrase “chicken scratch.”

That’s because Chicken Treat is having Betty, a hen, run their Twitter account.

9News.com says the move is part of a publicity stunt aimed at attempting to get Betty to tweet out an actual word.

If she succeeds, the publication says Betty could get into the Guinness World Records.

“Right now, Betty is pecking away at becoming the world record title holder for first chicken to tweet,” the company said in a YouTube clip.

Betty has been tweeting since Oct. 8.

“Betty will be tweeting away until she sends a proper, five-letter word in English,” the company added.

Thus far, none of her tweets have been comprehensible. See a few examples below:

You can follow Betty’s tweets via the hashtag #ChickenTweet.

Do you think this stunt will catch on at any local fast-food restaurants?
