Crews Work To Rescue Horse After 60-Foot Fall Into Ravine

HOLLYWOOD HILLS (CBSLA.com) — Crews worked late into the night on Sunday to rescue a horse who had become stuck in a ravine in the Hollywood Hills.

Los Angeles City Fire personnel and park rangers joined an equine veterinarian in assisting the horse, who had fallen about 60 feet into the ravine.

The veterinarian sedated the horse around 9:25 p.m.

LA City Fire personnel then began preparing to hoist the horse out of the ravine. Using a helicopter, fire personnel hoisted the horse back into a pasture and into safety.

It was not immediately clear how the horse became stuck.
