Homicide Detectives Probe Possible Double Homicide In Hacienda Heights

HACIENDA HEIGHTS (CBSLA.com) —  Homicide detectives have been dispatched to a location in Hacienda Heights following the report of two bodies being found.

Officials said a man and a woman -- both adults -- were found dead in the 16600 block of Carriage Place.

The cause of death is part of the investigation.

Officials said both people were found dead  just before 4:15 p.m. Wednesday.

The investigation is on-going.

Police told reporters the deceased female was 84-years-old. They did not identify the deceased male.

CBS2's Erica Nochlin reports the victims might have been at the location dead for some time.

Officials looking into the double homicide told her they hoped to gather clues from a car stolen from the premises. Police gave the missing beige four-door 2001 Toyota Camry's license plate as 7LXV190.

Both victims were found in separate rooms after friends asked police to provide a welfare check.

The woman's son was reportedly arrested in the past for elder abuse but police told Nochlin he had been in custody for several months.

The murders have the neighborhood on edge.

"What am I supposed to say," says Janice Park, "I have two nephews on this block. They're like babies that live with me. What am I supposed to say to that? Kinda makes me wanna leave a little bit."

If you've seen the stolen vehicle or have any information about this case, you're asked to call the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5550.
