CARSON (CBSLA.com) —   The California Highway Patrol chased a speeding suspect on a number of Southland freeways Wednesday.

Officials said the suspect was driving erratically. According to the CHP, the suspect also came close to hitting a CHP officer.

The chase has gone in both directions on the 405, 110 and 91 Freeways, as well.

The suspect got off freeways numerous times to drive on surface streets.

The suspect was stopped by officers who crashed into him near the 105 Freeway and Imperial Highway.

The driver was taken into custody without further incident.
