Michaels was arrested around 9:30 p.m. Saturday. His Dodge truck was also impounded for further evidence.
Authorities said Michaels was driving his Dodge pickup going eastbound on Del Obispo Street around 10:15 p.m. Friday when it struck Cesar Andres Medina at the intersection, authorities said.
In a strange twist of fate, Medina was brought to Mission Hospital Regional Medical Center, the same hospital where his sister, Jenifer Medina, works in registration.READ MORE: 2 Men Killed In Compton After Being Shot

“They picked me up off the floor, and put me in a room,” said a tearful Jenifer, “And I was like is he gone? Is he gone? And they told me. He’s gone.”
On the GoFundMe page (click here), Jenifer wrote, “The day I feared the most — the day I would see my little brother come in as a trauma patient to my work. I was supposed to be the one in the trauma room registering him but thank goodness I wasn’t. He was a John Doe at first — until the trauma team found his wallet. When I saw the wallet it looked familiar and when we opened it and saw my brother’s face on the ID …my whole world collapsed. As I did.”MORE NEWS: Angelenos Make Plans For Mother's Day During The First Weekend The County Is In The Yellow Tier
