Fire At Van Nuys Home Leaves Father, Infant With Severe Burns
VAN NUYS (CBSLA.com) — Authorities say a father and an infant sustained severe burn injuries Sunday morning following a fire at a home in Van Nuys.
Firefighters arrived at the home in the 14300 block of Kittridge Street about 11 a.m. and extinguished the blaze in 16 minutes, according to Brian Humphrey, a spokesperson with the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Humphrey indicated via Twitter that four people were hurt.
Of those, two sustained severe burns while two others, described as a mother and toddler, were in fair condition with minor burn injuries.
Humphrey said there was "no immediate evidence of [a] functional smoke alarm in [the] residence," according to a tweet.
The cause of the fire and a damage estimate were not immediately available.
