Man Suspected Of Sexually Assaulting Teenager In Riverside

RIVERSIDE (CBSLA.com) — Police sought the public's help on Wednesday to locate a man who is suspected of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl in Riverside.

Around 3 p.m. on Saturday, a man approached the teenager from behind as she walked in the area of Strong Street and Fairmount Boulevard.

Officers said the suspect then forced the victim to a nearby area where he sexually assaulted her.

However, the teenager was able to get away and fled from the area.

Detectives described the suspect as a Hispanic man who has dark short hair, is clean shaven, stands around 5-foot-2 tall and has a heavy build.

He has a pock mark or burn scar under his left eye, and was last seen wearing sunglasses.

At this time, it remains unclear if the suspect fled from the area in a vehicle.

The investigation is ongoing.
