'We're All Mexican' YouTube Video Puts Positive Spin On Immigrant Group's Contributions

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Amid a heated national debate over immigration policy on the Mexican border that has at times turned hateful, producer Emilio Estefan, husband of singer Gloria Estefan, has released a YouTube video to illustrate the positive contributions of Latino immigrants in the United States.

The video, titled "We're All Mexican," highlights the achievements of Mexican-Americans and other Latinos in entertainment, politics and science. The video features celebrities including Carlos Santana, rapper Pitbull and actress Eva Longoria.

The song is intended to show that anyone can become a victim of racism and bigotry at any moment, just as Mexicans are experiencing now, Estefan said.
