No Felony Charges For Suspended Ishmael Adams Of No. 9 UCLA

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Prosecutors do not plan to file felony charges against UCLA cornerback Ishmael Adams over the alleged theft of a cellphone from an Uber driver.

Los Angeles city attorney's spokesman Frank Mateljan says that the district attorney referred the case to his office Monday for possible misdemeanor charges against Adams.

After his Aug. 30 arrest by campus police, Adams was suspended indefinitely by the ninth-ranked Bruins and missed the team's first two games, both victories.

UCLA football spokesman Josh Rupprecht said Monday that the team has no new comment on the developments.

Adams, a redshirt junior, started every game the previous two seasons for the Bruins, making the All-Pac-12 team last season.
