Lanes Reopened On WB 10 Freeway In Covina After 10-Vehicle Crash Involving Big Rig

WEST COVINA (CBSLA.com) — Several vehicles, including a big rig, were involved in a crash that blocked several lanes of the westbound San Bernardino (10) Freeway for several hours Monday in the Covina area.

The crash was reported about 5:50 a.m. east of Holt Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol. A SigAlert was declared at 6:16 a.m.

A semi lost control of its brakes and crashed into at least 10 other vehicles, according to the California Highway Patrol. At least one car was sent off the freeway lanes onto the embankment.

At least one person was examined for a possible injury and several tow trucks were sent to retrieve several disabled cars.

All lanes of the freeway were reopened again at 11:20 a.m, CHP officials said.
