Sgt. Paul Mercado of the Corona Police Department said Anderson was the uncle of the alleged shooter.

Police say Brandon Willie Martin, 22, a former professional baseball player, shot and killed his father, 64-year-old Michael Martin, as well as 62-year-old Barry Swanson, an ADT alarm company installer.

Anderson was shot and placed on life support until his death.

All three men were shot at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at a residence in the 1000 block of Winthrop Drive in Corona, Mercado said.

Martin allegedly stole Swanson’s pickup truck following the rampage and was arrested Friday following a vehicle pursuit that ended in the 800 block of Derby Street.

According to MILB.com (Minor League Baseball.com), Martin — a former first round draft pick in 2011 — was playing shortstop for the Bowling Green Hot Rods (a class A Tampa Bay Rays farm club) before he was released on March 20, 2015.
