Officials Identify Suspect, Victim Killed In Apparent Murder-Suicide In Rosemead

ROSEMEAD (CBSLA.com) — Authorities on Thursday released the identities of two men who died in an apparent murder-suicide incident in Rosemead.

According to the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office, Dick Duong, 32, of San Gabriel, has been identified as the gunman who shot and killed 31-year-old Eagan Tun.

Around 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday, deputies were sent to a home located in the 2700 block of Willard Avenue, near Fern Avenue, for report of a 911 call for a gunshot victim, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

Upon their arrival, authorities located Tun lying in the driveway suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Deputies were able to locate Duong in the 2600 block of Willard Avenue due to witness descriptions.

As authorities attempted to contact him, Duong shot himself in the head with a handgun. He was also pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives recovered a semi-automatic handgun at the scene.

The motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
