Homicide Detectives Investigate Shooting Death Of Two Men In Rosemead

ROSEMEAD (CBSLA.com) — Homicide detectives on Wednesday continued to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of two men in Rosemead.

Around 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday, deputies were sent to a home located in the 2700 block of Willard Avenue near Fern Avenue for report of a 911 call for a gunshot victim, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

Upon their arrival, authorities located a 31-year-old Asian man lying in the driveway, suffering from gunshot wounds.

Paramedics pronounced the victim dead at the scene. His identity is being withheld pending family notification.

Witnesses described the suspect as an Asian man who wore all black clothing and ran south on Willard Avenue.

During a preliminary search of the area, deputies located a 32-year-old Asian an in the 2600 block of Willard Avenue.

As authorities attempted to contact the suspect, he shot himself in the head with a handgun.

Paramedics pronounced the suspect dead at the scene. His identity is also being withheld pending family notification.

Investigators were able to recover a semi-automatic handgun at the scene.

The motive for the shooting remains unclear at this time.

The investigation is ongoing.
