BELL (CBSLA.com) — A man sought in connection with a Bell hit-and-run that left a 17-year-old skateboarder dead has surrendered to police, authorities said on Wednesday.
The Bell Police Department said Wednesday that Charles Garcia, 36, had turned himself in to authorities in connection with the Aug. 29 crash.
The crash occurred at 11:22 p.m. on a Saturday night when a car hit Joshua Moldonado head-on while the teenager was skateboarding near his house. Moldonado was pronounced dead on the scene.
Two days later, police identified Garcia as a person of interest in the case.
Garcia on Wednesday was booked on suspicion of felony hit-and-run and was being held on $260,000 bail.
