Residents Brace For Scorching Temperatures, High Humidity Across Southland

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Temperatures and humidity levels will rise to uncomfortable levels on Tuesday amid heat wave conditions across the Southland.

According to the National Weather Service, temperatures are expected to rise to the mid 90s in L.A. and the low 100s in the San Gabriel, San Fernando, Santa Clarita and Antelope valleys, also including inland Orange County.

Forecasters explained the high heat is attributed to high pressure developing over the region with high humidity levels due to lingering moisture from Hurricane Linda.

Temperatures are expected to be 10 to 15 degrees higher than normal for the remainder of this week.

In fact, an excessive heat warning has been issued for the San Gabriel and Santa Monica mountains in both L.A. and Ventura counties, from 11 a.m. today until 8 p.m. on Thursday, according to the NWS.

Meanwhile, strong rip currents and high surf along the coast will last until tonight.

Heat wave conditions will last until early next week.
