More Details Emerge About Bell Gardens Shooting That Left 3 Injured

BELL GARDENS (CBSLA.com) — Additional details were being released Monday after a possible car-to-car shooting in which three people were injured on Sunday night.

The victims of the shooting, who remained hospitalized, told police the incident began with an altercation on the 710 Freeway.

A longtime Bell Gardens resident, who asked not to be identified by name, explains that he was picking up his grandchildren when he says he heard three gunshots.

When the man came around the corner, he says he saw a car riddled with bullet holes on Florence Avenue.

"This needs to stop … all over the place," he said. "We're supposed to love one another … and help each other."

The shooting, police say, is being investigated as possible road-rage.

Three victims, two of whom are believed to be father and son, say they were followed off 710 Freeway around 7:30 p.m. Sunday.

Those two victims described the suspect vehicle as a dark-colored SUV and told police they were shot by a passenger after the vehicle had pulled up alongside them at a red light.

So far, police have not named a suspect or determined the motive. They are looking at whether the shooting was captured on nearby security cameras.

All three victims are expected to survive.
