LAGUNA NIGUEL (CBSLA.com) — The Orange County Sheriff's Department has named a documented gang member as the suspect in a deadly stabbing outside a popular pub in Laguna Niguel early Monday morning.

Craig Tanber, 37, is accused of killing a 22-year-old man at Patsy's Irish Pub on Golden Lantern Street around 12:15 a.m. on Labor Day.

The victim has been identified as Shayan Mazroei of Laguna Niguel. He was rushed to Mission hospital in Mission Viejo, where he was pronounced dead.

"Took somebody's life in front of our community. Nothing happens like this in Laguna Niguel. And it's horrible. I don't even know what to say," said Laguna Niguel resident Julie Neal.

Investigators said the Tanber and Mazroei got into a fight before the suspect stabbed the victim and took off.

"I got married in this bar, and I love everybody here. And for this to happen in our community breaks my heart," Neal said.
