Search Continues For Police Impersonator Who Assaulted Woman In Duarte

DUARTE (CBSLA.com) — Deputies continued to search on Wednesday for a man who posed as a peace officer and assaulted a woman in Duarte.

The crime unfolded around 11 p.m. on Saturday in the 1400 block of Buena Vista Street, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

Deputies explained the man pulled a woman over and threatened to arrest her before he assaulted her.

The victim sustained injuries during the attack, but she is expected to survive.

On Tuesday, authorities released a composite sketch of the suspect in hopes that someone would identify the suspect.

Detectives described the suspect as a Caucasian man who is between the ages of 40 to 50-years-old, stands 6-feet-tall and weighs 220 pounds.

He was last seen wearing a green polo-style shirt.

Deputies added the suspect was seen driving a light-colored, late model, full-size sedan that has tinted windows, and flashing red and blue lights.
