Ventura Police Hunt Hit-And-Run Driver That Struck Pedestrian

VENTURA (CBSLA.com)   —  Police in Ventura are looking for a hit-and-run driver who left a pedestrian injured on Friday evening.

The accident occurred just before 6:40 p.m. at the intersection of Thompson Boulevard and Figueroa Street.

Arriving officers were told that the vehicle, a red Dodge Dakota 4-door pickup with a tarp and painting equipment in the truck bed, fled the scene without rendering aid.

Witnesses said the vehicle sustained front end damage and a shattered front windshield.

The vehicle was last seen driving southbound on Figueroa St.

The suspect was described as a Latino.

The victim was treated at the scene by Ventura City Fire personnel and then transported to Ventura County Medical Center by American Medical Response ambulance. The pedestrian had sustained moderate non-life threatening injuries to the head, shoulders and extremities. police said.

The investigation is ongoing.
