ANAHEIM (CBSLA.com) — Disneyland’s “Birdman,” who greets Disneyland visitors with parrots, was stabbed during an argument outside Disneyland, police said Monday.
Tony Diep, 54, was arrested in connection with the stabbing that happened in the 1500 block of South Harbor Boulevard, just before 10 p.m. Sunday, Anaheim police Sgt. Jay Gallacher said.READ MORE: MLB Honors Shohei Ohtani With Commissioner’s Historic Achievement Award
“They were involved in some type of argument and the suspect produced a knife and stabbed the victim several times,” Gallacher said. He was taken to a hospital in critical condition. Witnesses followed Diep while in contact with police, and the man was arrested about 100 yards north of the crime scene, Gallacher said. He will likely be booked on suspicion of attempted murder.
The 52-year-old man who was stabbed is known as “The Birdman” because he greets Disneyland visitors with parrots.
