Kobe Bryant Surprises Taylor Swift During Concert's First Night - Of 5 - At Staples Center

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Taylor Swift performed Friday to a sold-out crowd, lined with celebrities, at the Staples Center.

Friday was the first of a five-night run, which brings the total number of concerts she's held at the arena to 16 - more than any other performing artist. Lakers star Kobe Bryant surprised Swift during the show and walked on stage to unveil a banner honoring the pop superstar's record number of shows at the venue.

Lots of stars were spotted in the VIP section, including pop star Joe Jonas and his girlfriend Gigi Hadid, "Modern Family" star Jesse Tyler Ferguson and actress Kelly Preston.

Haim - a pop rock band made up of three sisters who hail from the San Fernando Valley, Australian singer-songwriter Vance Joy and Canadian singer Shawn Mendes are opening for Swift on "The 1989 World Tour."
