ARCADIA (CBSLA.com) — A person was found dead Tuesday near the site where a vehicle crashed down an embankment from a road in the Angeles National Forest north of Arcadia, authorities said.

Firefighters were sent to the 2200 block of Santa Anita Canyon Road shortly before 8 a.m., said county fire Inspector Chris Reade.

The gender and age of the fatally injured person were not immediately known. Crews were seen searching for other possible victims.

It was unclear when the crash occurred, or whether other people were in vehicle, Reade said.
